The Billion-Dollar Decision
The situation
A newly promoted Senior Vice President of Engineering for the Americas faced a consequential go-to-market decision involving new technology, changing workflows and significant organizational implications. His leadership scope had expanded from roughly 300 people to nearly 5,000. The business needed a decision.
The pressure
The information was incomplete. The organizational consequences were significant. The timeline was compressed — and pressure was beginning to affect how he saw the decision itself.
Galen's role
The advisory conversations challenged the assumptions shaping the decision, separated the executive's capabilities from the internal narratives influencing his judgment, and widened the aperture through which he evaluated his options. Once the problem became clearer, so did the decision.
The outcome
He made the call. The resulting go-to-market strategy contributed to approximately $1 billion in enterprise revenue across the Americas.
