His professional path began as a sales representative with Kraft General Foods, where he set a bold vision: become the Senior Vice President of Sales for a Fortune 500 company. Every move, late night, and milestone was a step toward that goal. Galen went on to earn his MBA from Rice University, led unprecedented growth as General Manager of a $110MM division of Imperial Sugar Company, and was inducted into the Coca-Cola North America President’s Club as a Sales Director.
THEN CAME THE INFLECTION POINT: He accepted an 18-month developmental assignment as an internal coach for Coca-Cola’s Central Division—supporting employees across the U.S. The assignment expanded internationally, including leadership development efforts in London, Canada, and Mexico. What began as a temporary pivot turned into a powerful new calling: unlocking leadership potential at scale.
Galen’s insights became so valuable that The Coca-Cola Company positioned his leadership insight as a strategic asset to build stronger relationships with key customers. That initial development rotation turned into an 8.5-year enterprise-wide leadership mission.
While he no longer aspires to a corporate SVP title, Galen’s passion for empowering leaders is stronger than ever. He is certified by the World Coach Institute, credentialed by the International Coach Federation (ICF), and a graduate of the Goleman Emotional Intelligence Program. He also holds certifications in tools such as Hogan Assessments, Korn Ferry 360, HBDI/Whole Brain Thinking, and ToP Facilitation/Strategic Planning Methods.
Today, Galen dedicates his time to advising and developing SVPs, senior executives, CEOs, and nonprofit leaders in over 12 countries, with a client list that reads like a who’s who of the Fortune 500.
In 2024, Galen was featured as a cover story in Inc. Magazine’s Top Executive Coaches to Watch and was recognized by Black Leaders Worldwide and Marquis Who’s Who as a leader to watch in executive coaching. Galen was also designated the the #1 Executive Coach in the Midwest by Real Leaders Magazine.
